i just put together a new wine rack. our dining room is full of new furniture - one wine rack, one love seat, and one armchair. in addition to the existing coffee table, piano, and futon. party central!
this brings me to hour 3 of trying to stay up really late. think i'll air pop some corn now.

ok, lyzz and emma are invited. i hope i got emmas email address correct. i didn't invite lyzz before because i wasn't sure how into the internets she was. my apologies!
ugh, i'm still a little hungover. i need to either go over to someones house or go shopping because its 8 pm, i'm tired, and i have to stay up really late tonight. i work overnight tomorrow so i need to prep my sleep schedule.
meghan, i love pee stories. i have done precious little outdoor peeing since moving to chicago.
Halloween Update-Korea
Well, it's official, no one in Korea really UNDERSTANDS how kick-ass a holiday Halloween is.
First of all, no one here knows who Bruce Springsteen is. Not that it has anything to do with Halloween, but you would think a nation who hates Bush so much would take the time to find out what music Kerry likes. As you are all aware I am SUPER DUPER jealous of Mara. It's just not fair, the Badgers are 8-0 (ranked 5/4 in the AP and coaches poll), Bruce was in Madison doing a street concert and to top it all off I missed Halloween on state street. I should have take my vaccation time last week and flown back!
Anyway, if you ever go abroad for a year make sure and take some people from madison with you. Saturday afternoon me and some awesome peeps here headed for Everland, an amusement park that has lots of halloween celebrations. We arrived around 1-1:30 and went directly to find beer. The beer garden was closed (lame) but we managed to find an area that had a beer place and food. So we sat there for 4 hours.
After getting a bit buzzed we decided to go on some rides. But we passed a peting zoo and got sidetracked with some animals. We finally did go on a few rides and ate dinner and watched some fireworks. But there was one catch: they had started taking the halloween stuff down and putting up (you guessed it) christmas decorations. The day before Halloween and the halloween decorations were already coming down. How.... STUPID!
It was fun though, but we headed home eventually to my apt. We had some halloween treats I had prepared (suckers made to look like ghosts, m&m, etc) and did some more drinking and then headed to a bar...
at the bar we drank out of the coolest mini-keg-ish think ever. So we drank, drank, drank with a little bit of snacking until about 2 and then went to the noreabang.
Somehow we got the VIP room which included three tamborines and a drum machine. We were dancing on the tables, dancing, "singing" We had some butt druming goin on, and somehow, through all of this someone took a video on a digital camera.
I have to find a way to send you guys this video it is FRICKEN hilarious. So our Noreabang time ran out- we sang a few songs in harmony sans music and words before leaving and finally called it quits around 4am. In the morning (we actually got up before noon!) I saw everyone off, bought a TON of candy (for the kids coming to my desk to trick-or-treat today) and then lesson planned- only to wake up today with no voice what-so-ever and a horribly plugged nose.
I feel really guity today, but there's no way I can teach so I'm just hanging out at my deak all day drinking coious amounts of tea and sucking on hard candy since I haven't been able to find halls yet.
Anyway, I want to here your stories about mad-town. I read that there was a minor (compared to previous years) disturbance pretty late at night, but the Mayor is PISSED.
Okay, I'm done- this is really long!
Happy Halloween!!!!
Hey ladies! Virginia, for you, I went out as a pirate last night. And then for me, I also went out as a kitty. A Pirate Kitty. It was awesome. I went to this party all the way out in Burnaby (imagine the distance between say Madison and Verona, which is really far if you're taking public trans and cabs) and it felt like I was in a John Hughes movie. The party was at some dope house on the side of a mountain and the carpets were white folks. White! The best costume I saw was this dude dressed up like a line of coke. He even had a giant VISA around his neck. Hilarious. Towards the end of the night I peed behind a Jeep because we were waiting for our cab to come and I accidentally got some on my tail so I left it on someone's windshield. Surprise surprise. I love presents. The "djs" (I use that term very lightly) SUCKED A MONKEY'S ARSE. It's not cool to stand at the tables and scratch scratch scratch your way through shitty hip hop. Period. It was disgraceful. I have to go illustrate an imaginary creature of Northern India. Fun fun. V--can you invite Lyzz onto this thing? I'm not sure how to do it. dr_lyzz@hotmail.com. Later Kitties. Yarr.
girls girls it was so lovely to talk with you last night! i hope y'alls had a lovely time. did madison burn down this year? i haven't heard any big news from up north yet.
chicago halloween was pretty hot and on fire. i got off of work at midnight, changed into my pippi longstocking costume in the car, and hit up a loft party in logan square that turned out to be way more fun than promised. i was wearing bootypants bloomers and we danced to david bowie and the talking heads.
today my schedule is fucked. i kinda sorta spent the night out and then had to take the train back to my car this morning. picture me on the el platform in borrowed scrubs eighteen sizes too big, mascara all smeared, holding the remains of my striped pippi costume under my arm. then jenny and i met for breakfast at a semi-fanci place in lincoln park, so i had to put my work clothes back in order for the restaurant to serve us.
now that i'm showered and presentable its too beautiful out for me to stay inside. but i'm looking forward to the october 30th worldwide updates!

trader joes sells 4 kinds of chickenless soy nuggets, and not a single selection of chickenfull chicken nuggets. these soy things just aren't the same. i need ketchup.
goodmorning for the third time. i'ma working second shift today baby.
tee hee, now there is literally a pie cooling on my windowsill (only its in a square pan)! party like its 1955.
central standard time baby, ceeeentraaaaal standaaarrrrddddd. i'm making pumpkin bars right now, but i can't decide if i should go ahead and bring them to our vounteer tree decorating at work tonight or just keep them for me and dave to munch on. maybe i'll bring half the pan or something.
and oh mmmmy my. with the leftover evaporated milk from the pie i made the best cup of coffee in the world this morning.
you know what? i'm really not into those lance armstrong bracelets. and i'm REALLY not into the pink ones for breast cancer research. not that i don't support the cause (i sponsered like 3 walkers this year) but they are really ugly. i would think those ladies over at the breast cancer foundation could come up with something better.
good luck with your midterms meghan! maybe you should make me a pretty christmas present as a midterm project, and i'll do the same for you?
Tuesday, October 26, 2004
Additionally, whose time zone are we using for this thing? It's only 10:20 here (note posting time).
P.S.
All time rationalization was done using the brain power of drunk family members. Please reverse for proper eclipse viewing.
Fire Away
Hey ladies of the canyon,
I decided that it was still ok to make my own croutons with Martha in jail. She would've wanted it that way. I wish I could say I had some rambunctious plans for Halloween, but I really don't. It seems that everyone here just sets off fireworks instead of a State-Street-esque-free-for-all type marching parade-ish thing. Did you know there's a lunar eclipse tomorrow? I think it's at 1am my time, so...11 in Madison and Chicago. It's midterms still, so I should stop lollygagging. Hot damn, thems some good croutons.

Get this party started!
What the heck is up everyone? sounds like madison/chicago is keeping everyone very busy.
Mol- ask for a raise! (ha)
Ginster- daylight saving is on your side in fall. You get a whole extra hour to spend as you see fit! Not that this is a good enough reason to go to Madtown for halloween, but anyway...
K- have you heard anything from Epic yet? Did you get a cat?
I finished my last regular class for the day and am now working on getting pumped up for my last class- 2nd grade (aka 7th grade) English Conversation.
I think a few of the girls are bringing cookies. I brought some drinks, so we won't do anything serious. I wanted them to color some halloween stuff for me to put on my walls, not that this has anything to do with speaking English, but I want some student colored drawings. Maybe we'll do that and then play pictionary.
Tonight I have to go shopping and buy a LOT of candy, as I'm allowing my students to come "trick-or-treating" to my desk on Monday. There are 19 classes of about 40 students each, so I'm going to need to buy around 800 pieces of candy. WHAT have I gotten myself into? Hopefully some students will forget.
Okay, back to work. I have to try and find some crayons as well as figure out what pat of the book the Korean teachers are at so I can start planning for next week. I have to be completely ready monday since I'll be busy handing out candy the whole time.
Cheers everyone, miss you!

ps - first chicago celebrity sighting: slug of atmosphere was at the empty bottle friday night too :0.
and off to work again.
Saturday, October 23, 2004
mmm, i finally get a chance to eat dinner at twelve thirty in the damned morning. oreos and milk, so wholesome. target totally schooled me tonight.
saw vhs or beta for the second time at the empty bottle on friday night: so totally awesome. the long long walk back to my car in the pouring rain, not so awesome. warm bed waiting for me at home, oh yes we are back to awesome.
i think being angela for halloween is probably the winner of the two choices. k bot and marius - i probably won't be coming to madison next weekend after all. i have to work at 2 on sunday afternoon, and when you count in day light savings time and the price of gas, i'm not sure i'm up to the trip.
i'm tired i haven't seen dave in three days and i have to work in 8 hours. good night!
U RAH RAH!
WOOHOO!!!!!!
Not only did the Badgers win, but they did it on the American Forces Network here in Korea. Thank god the one time they have WI play on TV the game started at 1am and not 5:30 am.
Go Badgers!
I'm a tad bit drunk (ie. pretty damn drunk) and going to bed to celebrate the Wisconsin Vitory.
Mol, I'll meet you in Sunny Cal Jan 1.
Friday, October 22, 2004
OOoooOOOhhhh....My vote is for Angela I think. Is your hair red or something these days? I don't know if I'll do anything for Halloween this year. Maybe I'll just buy a bunch of candy. My apartment isn't big enough for a party. There's one girl I know who is having people over, but she lives in West Vancouver, which is actually north and then west and far away by bus, so forget it. It's Friday night and I'm at home doing homework like a big nerd alert. I hope you guys are having fun...Today is Noel's birthday. He's in China for probably 2 years, by the by. Virg, I think it's funny that you say ceramicise, because that's what Sarah calls it too. Strange. OK, I'm hungry, so Ima go make dinner. Tak Cau.
Meghan
lizbot i'm sorry your sister is having a rough time. i hope the rest of your siblings can console her in your absence.
work today = awesome. i was there for 11 1/2 hours and it was totally fun. i'm not kidding. i ENJOYED it! the sheer amount of problem-solving i get to do in a day is amazing.
yesterday on my day off my pal tim and i played 'chicago tourist' and went downtown to see millennium park. it was pretty cool, but i can't imagine what the fuck took them six years to build it. its not even that big. but pretty sweet nonetheless.
my life is so predictable. i need new routines. i am really happy right now, but all i ever do is ceramicize, work, and drink with friends. then ceramicize more, work more, and go drinking again. its too much fun to stop though.
blog-poll: should i be pippi longstocking or angela from "my so called life" for halloween?

I love Korea
Sorry for all the blog writing today. You can tell I'm really over-the-top bored right now.
Anway, important news, I just paid my gas bill today and I had to brag, it was 1,070 won. Current exchange rate is 1 USD = 1,100 won. That's right, less than one dollar. For cable (over 70 channels, although I don't watch all of them) it's 5,500 won. Electricity is less then that, I think. I love bill paying in Korea.
I'm going home to make my dinner now. Cheers.
I totally forgot!
here's something else funny- so I was seraching for some Roch news, and I found this site, only check out the headline of the second article and then where it is from.
Obviously the people who run the website aren't woried about the truthfulness of their news reporting!
http://www.topix.net/city/rochester-mn
News from the Homefront
Gin is in LOOOOOVE. yuck! You are going to get cooties!
K, They have made SO MANY changes at my old work place. I don't know about getting free shit though, it's a possibility, but Greeks are pretty stingy. (as Mara can tell you I am proof of this)
Moll, glad you managed to figure out the computer. I'm sure it's not true that you graduated and turned 40. More like you graduated and turned 80... haha, just kidding (only, well, you DO go to bed early).
As for life in Korea, this weekend has definately taken a downturn. The David Hellfgott concert (see: shine, the moive) is sold out and then I found out a kid from JM who was my sisters friend (as well as Christian Cragun and Brian Eagen's for Mara, who might actually know who those people are) fell off a bluff in Redwing and died.
I didn't know the kid but I'm feeling partiularly shitty right now as my sister had had a really hard month. Our cat died, her boyfriend was a jerk and dumped her, and she has some wierd virus diease that made her miss tons of school and all of swimming and she had to have all these tests done, and on top of that her sister left her for Korea.
I know she's not doing good and I just want to fly home right now to give her a hug.
Ack, anyway, I don't mean to be so damn depressing. It will all be okay, it's just that the extra stress caused by sitting in the same place all day with nothing to do makes a person crazy.
On a lighter note now that the concert idea is crapped I can sit around Saturday night and watch the Badger game all drunk while eating sausages since the game is at 1:00 am Korea time instead of 5:30 or 6:30 am. 1:00am is a much more suitable time for sausages and beer.
liz your korea adventures sound like so much fun! i don't think my time in denmark was anywhere near that exciting (escept for when i was puking out of fourth story windows, always a good time).
mara left a little note, but not through the blogger home page. she'll be back, i know she will!
brrrrrgh. work has been challenging, but good lately. i really do like my job. if i didn't have to drive an hour minimum each way i would LUV my job. today hopefully brings a lunch date with my fellow northern suburb commuters in niles, but i left my phone in my car last night, so i don't know what our plans are.
i was superproductive at the ceramics studio last night and threw eight (8) shotglasses and three (3) mugs! i hope they all turn out. yeah dude, ceramic shot glasses. booyah.
i have also been recently initiated into the illinois club for people who fear emissions testing. i got a notice yesterday that i have one month to take my car in to check for fumes. i'm sure i'll pass, but what a pain in the ass. skokie is the closest damned testing facility.
and on a personal note, i think i have a for real crush on a boy for the first time in one year.

Drag shows
So, we all know my love of drag shows, well for day two of the festival they had a talent-show like thing in the afternoon and some of the boys dressed up as girls. It was hilarious, some of them had on short skirts and tank tops, one of the shorter guys was wearing pants and a shirt, but stuffed his chest area (I want to say bra, but I don't know if he actually had one on). It was hilarious. The kids in drag, unfortunately, didn't do much but stand on stage and look embarassed, but there were some awesome dances and singing by other students.
During one horrible moment that Meg's brother could appreciate I thought they were going to make me do something. The announcer said some stuff in Korean (that wasn't really unusual) and then everyone turned and looked at the back of the room where I and some teachers and parents were sitting. I was super scared for a moment, but then someones mom went on stage to dance like a crazy woman. It was really funny.
If I would have known before hand that there could be adult performances I would have broken out Vanilla Ice!
How long is your brother in China, Meg?
I see Mara K's name on the list now, but she hasn't said hi. Say hi to everyone Molly!
I'm out now to finish putting up some new photos online, so check out my page sometime tomorrow (for you, today for me): http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lizkase/my_photos

FiveMoreMinutes
Sometimes I think the best thing about school is that I travel to all my classes with a glue stick. And other times I just want to play tetris and go to sleep. I want a Bell's Oberon. Liz your school sounds funny. My brother is teaching in China right now and the other night the freshman had some big school party and my brother and his girlfriend (who is Italian--Sorry Virg, you can't marry him yet) were the guests of honour. I spell it that way because I live in Canada. Eh. Anyway, so they introduced Noel and his G.F., who is also a teacher there and they were like, "OK, now sing us a song." And Noel said there was no way he would do that. And they all totally expected him to. But he refused and so they said, "Ok, just do a dance." The idea of Noel dancing in front of his school is so super hilarious to me. It's not like he can't dance, and actually he can sing a little too. One time in high school he thought he was a dog and he sang Harry connick, Jr. to the whole school, but that was because he was hypnotized. But an interpretive dance would have been so awesome. All the other students performed--some sing, some dance, something like a romance (that's a song I like), and he said some were really good but then there was this girl who was wearing a trench coat and had a little interpretive dance of her own. I guess it was pretty bad and inappropriate as well. But you know what? She didn't learn it from me. Ima go do my homeworks now. I'm designing some different layouts for a fake magazine to raise awareness about the lack of funding for Canadian athletes in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Sounds exciting? Well come on over then.
K, is the presentation for Epic?
So I had a fun day! day one of the school festival was today and it was pretty awesome. The first half was a big competition between the students. They did tug of war, relay races, etc. Then after lunch I saw some of the art work they did. It was impressive, but sometimws sad because most of it looked like it came out of a kit- everyone's project was the same. There were a few really creative pieces though. And I got to see the new library, which was super impressive and I made a key chain and got a brwonie and met some High School reps who were very jealous that I "belonged" to my school and not theirs.
Now I think we are going out for spagetti. And I think we are going for spagetti to apease me, the foreigner, but truthfully after eating spagetti almost every night of my college life I'm not too very excited. Oh well, I'm sure it will be good, and most importantly it will be free!
On tap for tomorrow is more games- this time envolving students teachers and parents, and musical performances- including some students doing talent-show-like dances to pop songs. Awesome.

Anyohaseyo!
Hi, so I'm Liz, the teaching in Korea, furniture selling person. I am also an expert on private Karaoke rooms (called Norea Bongs here in Korea). It sounds like you had some good choices of songs, but if you weren't drunk you weren't doing it right! Plus you should always ALWAYS sing it's raining men with the ladies.
I didn't have any drunken norea bang experiences myself this weekend, but I did stay up until 4am Saturday night watching fireworks, eating, drinking only a very small amount and pimping in our "penthouse" room at the Prince Motel in Seoul. It was awesome and big so we all chillled in the room and stayed up really late telling stories about Korea. the highlight story was about another teachers whose students (and she's at an all all boys school) did a skit about going to the doctor. One boy was the doctor, one was a boy who was hurt in some way, one was the boys father and one was the naughty nurse. And according to my friend the nurse and the dad really got into the rolls!
Anyway, after going to bed at 4am I got up at 6:30 to listen to the Badger game online, so sunday I was pretty dead. But I managed to go shopping, and we ate at Pizzaria Unos. it was a great find! Nothing like really good pizza to lift your spirits .
Sounds like you had a fun filled week Gin, how were the cinnamon rolls, and who won scrabble?
It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN
I went to this bar last night (in Vancouver) called the Marble Arch, but instead of waiting in line with all the hipster suckas we went in the "kareoke" entrance. This cost us half the price for admission AND we seriously got a private kareoke room for an hour! I didn't think I'd ever be into kareoke--am I spelling that right?--but then we started it up with some Guns N' Roses and everything was good. The people I was with were from school and admittedly we don't know each other very well yet, because when I sang the Final Countdown by Europe to them, they thought I was drunk. Duh. I was just ACTING. By the way, LATER, when I WAS drunk, I dropped a full Corona on the ground. No, no one bumped me or knocked it out of my hand. I just dropped it. Just opened up my hand and it fell in slow motion. This tall guy in line was like, "What was it, I'll buy you another one" and he actually DID and then didn't even hit on me. What a gentleman. Soup time. Peace out.

megbot! super. ok. kristin (you know kristin) is living the semi-employed high life in madison, liz is teaching english in korea (i don't think you ever met liz). liz sold me furniture. she is great.
they will soon speak for themselves i'm sure.
i really miss denmark lately. vancouver too. i need to go on a vacation. my parents and i were just talking about going to boston for 4 days after christmas.
i'm bored. meep. we're leaving for a party soon.
Maah maah?
OK, You got me here, now explain who else is on this island. I watched all the extra making of type business of Lord of the Rings yesterday and it was AWESOME. I apologize now for being mad when they swept the Oscars and I plan to spend the rest of my life making miniatures. With Orlando Bloom. And maybe Vigo.
girlz - i'm working on adding some members to this baby this weekend.
oh madison, you put on a show for me thursday night. kristins and my plans for playing scrabble at pauls club were thwarted by a huge gang of smelly hippies crowding up the place. thank you madison for putting throngs of patch-pantsed, dreadlocked white kids in a haze of smoke right in the way of my ideal night. it was okay though because we went to jennas for our word-play fun.
friday i got my hair cut by my favorite ever hair cutter, then said hi to the ERC peeps and was on my way to minneesoda. today my momma and i went to minneapolis to buy her a new volvo, and i heard not 1, but 3 prince songs on her new car radio while in twin cities territory. we also went shopping at anthropoligie, and big ups to MN for their lack of sales tax on clothing!
tonight = drink expensive wine with my parents and a 50th b-day party, tomorrow = play with my brothers dog, monday = back to chicago and work. booyah!

OMG my fellow target executive tim came to visit me when i was closing last night, so freaking sweet of him. it made my night.
i am simultaneously the most and least healthy eater ever. EVER. caseinpoint. tonights dinner was 1 avocado, corn, a glass of milk.....followed by 4 cookies. my last week at highland park i ate candy literally ALL DAY LONG and then would have like an apple for dinner.
k swiss i'll call you tonight. i should be getting to madison around 8.
my momma is super excited to see me. i get to see my parents new house too. way cool. will write from another state soon.

Rochester, Madison, Chicago, and beyond
Rochester, Madison, Chicago, and beyond: "Rochester, Madison, Chicago, and beyond "
Hey I totally forgot, I got my absentee ballot in the mail today! Hurrah!
So I'm in my map...
Hey, the long commute sucks. I can believe that it's frustrating. I have to walk 15 minutes to work and I sometimes think of catching a cab (it would cost about $1.45, so maybe in the winter if it gets really cold)
I'm jealous about the clay throwing though, I love pottery! I went to a ceramics festival this weekend (did I already tell you about this?) and it was KICK ASS. I bought a ton of stuff including some presents. I wish I would have bought more. It was all really reasonably priced too.
I hope you all have fun this weekend in Roch. I'm jalous that all you lovely crazy women get to get together and party. Make sure you all have a drink for me!
I don't have any plans this weekend yet, but probably I'm going to go to seoul. There is always something going on there! Supposedly they have a fireworks display by the river on Saturday by the place we went on the Ferry ride. It was gorgeous and awesome there and we can eat and drink on blankets, so I'm totally leaning towards doing that.
back to work, check ya'll later!
good morning ladies. my hot water is out today until 11:30, so i'm going to go throw some clay until i can get ready for work. ugh, second day. liz, this store is about 20 minutes further out from apartment, bringing the total drive to one hour on a good day. it kind of blows. i don't really care for the other executives in my building, though my boss is really cool. so far my team is okay, just not overly enthusiastic by any means.
not having to work until 2 pm is awfully sweet though.
i'm really feeling the crunch of having no free time right now. i'm going to rochester this weekend, so maybe i can take care of all my shopping when i'm there, but in the mean time i don't foresee ever having enough time to hunt for a halloween costume. not when i'm paying x dollars a week to belong to the ceramics studio anyway, i feel guilty not spending at least 10 hours a week there.
k dawg i can't wait to hang out this weekend, i have to call emma and mara too to see what theys got going on.

Monday
So, I'm kinda sad, this is my first full week of classes in about 3 weeks. It's going to be rough. The activity I did with my first graders didn't work so well, they cheated too much, so I have to figure out a way to make cheating harder.
I'm so excited fo ryou to Visit G-dawg, it will be major kick-ass fun.
Why aren't you excited for your work at a new store? Is it farther away? Closer? What's the dealio?
I too want to here stories from the abreviated world trip!
okay, I better get back to work- I need to go over my lesson plans for my other classes. dang work.
Cach ya'll later!
PS. We had some people cancel on the working in Korea thing and they still need to fill one spot. If all you job seeking people are intrested you can stop by the ESL department (Helen C, floor 5- I believe) or you can email Sandra: arfa@wisc.edu
liz did you ever succeed in getting an absentee ballot? i sure hope you did.
my head hurts so bad right now. and its almost 7pm. weak. for first time in almost a year i had to stay overnight at someone elses house to sleep off the liquor and exhaustion before i could make it to my own shower and bed. i love the kind of weekend where you keep doing more stuff with the same people for three days in a row. it reminds me of hang-out-forever guy matt when we lived on randall in madison. i start work in a new store tomorrow and i am totally not thrilled about it. blarg.
kristin - tell us more about your "job interview of epic proportions"! and i want to hear storiesfrom the aborted world trip!
Saturday, October 09, 2004
yay liz! its so good to hear from you! i'm telling you, next may i will be korea-bound. i'm glad you're having such a great time there. my day has been awesome so far. things accomplished before noon:
1) wake up, evict hangover
2) grocery shopping, many avocados bought
3) attended a designer sample sale, one hot dress, one hot top, and one hott pair of pants, under $100
4) made awesome lunch, preparing to go to work.
chicago is BEAUTIFUL today. there are garage sales all over, i saw a dog training class marching down the street with a gaggle of terriers, the leaves are changing, it rules.
now to go find a clean red shirt.
Shout out from Korea!
What the hell is up most beautiful people eva?
So, it's Saturday night here, and I'm sitting at home a little drunk- as I drank a bottle of wine and some soju. I just came off an AWESOME weekend. I went out last night with the Madison peeps in Icheon- we had mexican night (they have no Qdoba here, so we had to create our own) and then we went downtown to a bar and a nore bang (singing room) and frickin rocked the house!
Then today we watched the debate all hung over and made chocolate chip and bannana pancakes and then went to the ceramics festival. It frickin kicked ass- I bought some stuff for you guys. I spent so much money, I could have spent so much more.
So, now I'm chillin at my home. I'm going to pass out and wake up at 5:00am to watch the badgers online this morning. Then I plan to sleep off the weekend.

PS. Dude, you HAVE to visit
PPS. I'm totally on board with this website- it's awesome
wow, blogger really is slow. we'll have to see how this whole thing works out. tonight was my second to last night in highland park, before i make the big move to wheeling (?!?!). i've never even heard of wheeling. i'm not feeling too good about working there. anyway after a fairly early close (i got out just a little after eleven) i met up with some people down at my SECOND FAVORITE CHICAGO BAR, the hungry brain. drinking on an empty stomach and then going to get tacos, and THEN riding your bike home through brisk fall night air is totally fantastic. dig it.
krisitn, glad to have you aboard. lets do this bad thing!

new blog!
to start things off right, heres a little story of how my day went yesterday.
i wasted my only day off for 11 days in an all-day interview for a job with this sketchy downtown marketing firm. we were bumming around roscoe village and my interviewer stopped to get gas on the corner of belmont and western. we noticed a girl standing on the corner wearing the worlds shortest skirt and both made comments about how she must be hard at work, and so soon after school was let out too! while eddie gassed up his lexus, a dude in an suv totaly pulled up to the corner, honked at the girl, and she got in. whoa dude. my first time witnessing prostitution in all its glory, and my second run-in with "urban life". (the first run-in being when my sideview mirror was kicked off my car one night.)
so thats all. i have to work the next 7 days in a row, may not get to go home next weekend, may not get to go to madison for halloween, and am coming down with a cold. now i must go pottercize before i leave for work.
but seriously, i love this city.
