August birthdays are the best birthdays.

I'm just watching CNN from Canada looking at all the hurricane sadness. The governor of Mississippi has claimed that this is their tsunami, which I think is a little insensitive considering the state of Southeast Asia and all the insurance that will cover homes lost in Southeast Mississippi. It does look devestating though. Flattened palm trees never looked so sad.

The weather totally sucks today in Vancouver. It's cold and raining and it's marking the beginning of fall here. It doesn't bother me so much when it rains, just when it does for days at a time. It makes everyone cranky. I think it makes being home and cooking and watching movies cozier.

Well, I have to go find a way to entertain my out-of-town visiter without getting him wet. Maybe Granville Island for a delicious latte or something.
