OMG i forgot to tell you guys about how i biked in chicago critical mass on friday! it was so awesome. we looped around the downtown for about an hour, me and 300 other bikers, taking up like 4 city blocks, blocking intersections, running red lights, and causing general mayhem, then biked out to wicker park, through cabrini green (aka the projects, one of the most awful and dangerous parts of the city). i froze to death almost, it was so so cold and wet that night. when we do it again next month its going to be crazy - twice as huge because the weather will be nicer.

acghk! the tentacle sucked onto your mouth!! gross!

yeah, sorry i've been so MIA from this blog, i've got no internet at my house anymore so i have to blog from work. my new place is good still, but cold because it has no insulation and i'm too cheap to keep the heat blasting all the time.

mara - my mom really wants you and your mom to come with her for a weekend to stay in my apartment with me while i don't have a roommate. i think it sounds like a ton of fun, but i'm nervous because i don't want my mom to know what a bad neighborhood i live in now. my old place was totally yuppie-town-chicago, my new place is total crackhead-polish-scuzzville chicago. i know i say that every damn post, but its true. my entry way has no light on the inside stairs, which are made out of old wooden planks that you can see through. i think if you got like 7 people on the stairs at one time and had them all jump in the air, they would crash through. my building has no deadbolts and there used to be a sign on the door that said "please lock the door, there have been break ins lately."

so long story short, i think my mom would cry herself to sleep every night if she knew.

anyway! i've been really busy lately getting ready to go to NY with my company. When we went to atlanta in february we had to look nice, but we could wear jeans to dinner and stuff. this time its the big show. we have to look amazing and expensive. i'm getting my hair highlighted professionally for the first time ever, and i have major shopping to do. i'm bad at dressing up for real. i'm good at dressing up for pretend, but when it comes to an ongoing thing i'm much better at being a scrub.

yeah i should probably start work now. later gators.

Rockstars in Madison

Did any of you Madison people manage to see Hillary Clinton in Madison? I can't believe all the star power that has visited since I left... Hillary AND the boss? Why oh why did I ever leave?

This weekend I went to the fish market in incheon. While I was there we had a raw fish meal. We picked out the fish we wanted, they threw everything in a basket and sent it back to the kitchen for clean up and cutting. Included in the meal was raw octopus. They cut up the tenicals, but they still move when they bring the plate out to your table. Eventually they settle down, but if you poke them they start moving again. The first one I ate briefly suctioned onto my mouth before I could chew it.
