hey wake up! so heres all the big news in chicago. my bike was stolen last week. Michael's bike really. i meant to email him to tell him it was gone, but i'll get to that sometime. mara and kristin if you run into him let him know. i broke my key off in the lock one night after work last week and couldn't get it off the fence it was attached to. it was already 6 o' clock and i had to be on my way home, so i figured i would get a hacksaw from the warehouse handy man the next morning and saw the lock off. unfortunately by the next morning the entire thing was gone. it's cool though, jenny took me to a bike co-op and i got a new, sweeter, ride. the new cruiser is a silver schwinn that goes really fast and stops on a dime. all for 65 bucks. not bad.
my hairdresser irene's apartment was broken into last weekend and they stole ALL her stuff, including some hairwax that she had bought for me. i can't help but feel partly responsible since i never went to go pick up the wax. if she hadn't had such a stockpile of yummy hair goops in her place, maybe it wouldn't have been such an attractive place to rob.
work has had an amazing amount of screwups this week and last. this place is falling apart. i'm confident that at SOME POINT we'll get our shit together and start doing stuff right again though....
who wants to ditch the nuthouse madison for halloween and come down to chicago? i may be back up there for a night in october to go see the 446 - theres a lot of people from chicago going so it would be easy to catch a ride.
okay now someone else's turn!

so this is what the first week of notsummer2005 feels like. work was nuts this week. we are going to have to hire another office person to help out. this makes me nervous because the more we talk about promotions and job descriptions and task divisions, the more i wonder what the hell my job is and how i'm supposed to fit into all of this. apparently one part of my job is to identify when we need to hire another person however, and i've done a bang up job of that.
sooo it's a beautiful day for bike riding and buying pyrex. yeah man i'm going to buy a whole 6 piece set of pyrex today. and then bake the hell out of it. i'm so excited!

mexicans are too futile and i don't wanna get pregnant
man this weekend was GREATTT but i am glad to be back in chicago. i got to go to a lovely spur of the moment picnic last night, 8 of us showed up with pretty much leftovers from our fridges. i brought 3/4 of a banana bread and a bottle of wine. it was the most wonderful way to see the end of summer fade from our eyesights.
daves father picked me and dave up from o'hare in his cherry red pt cruiser, blasting NPR and smoking a huge cigar. i love dave's dad.
meghan - i cannot believe that i forgot your birthday. give me some time - but expect something good to show up in the mail. did you get the letter i sent you last week?
i got the pictures back from our critical mass viking bike ride, i'll post them on my other blog and put a link up here as soon as i get organized enough.

School's not out forever.
I can't believe the summer is over. School technically starts tomorrow, but I don't have a class until Wednesday. We're going in at 7:30 am tomorrow to grab up all the good lockers. There will be a shortage of space this year and those lockers are big enough to house two small Chinese girls in. Or two regular-sized Chinese girls actually.
I had my birthday party this last weekend along with my friend Jill who is the day after me and it was soooo much fun. We polka dotted our walls baby blue and black and then made cupcakes to match. It was all very graphic design-y. My friend Kevin #2 brought like 10 people from England with him which was kind of weird, but they all brought their own wine so I'm not complaining. Oh, to clarify, they didn't come all the way from England just for that. Great weekend though.
Can anyone come over and move the big spider on my ceiling? I can't go near it, and I certainly can't kill it. My roommate is out of town. Someone help me!
man this weekend has been so fun. stephanie the babycat has been crawling all over me for the past hour and chewing on every part of my body that she can fit in her mouth. you practically have to wear sunglasses in kristin's living room because the reflection off the lake is SO bright.
i can't believe how many good friends there were at Genna's last night. michael is looking extremely well and happier than i've seen him look in literally years. i'm very happy about that. i can't get used to how close everything is here when i come here for visits.
pozor.
