beep boo bop beep boop

Viginia how come you only want a six month lease? Are you moving out of Chicago? I'm sorry I haven't called you back yet. I don't have a good excuse. Anyone want to know what the exam questions were on today's Design History midterm? You just let me know, and I'll type them up for you. I have this other project where I have to create a graphic novel, partially due tomorrow, and later this week I have to have finished this project where I storyboard the opening credits to a movie of my choice. We have to create a new opening sequence. It's actually pretty cool. Anyway, I should probably be working on that. Peace out, my homies.
PS> Virg, that is freakin awesome. I'm going to see them on the 11th, and just maybe it will be my birthday as well!

oh boy girls. what a week.

so, dave and i are being kicked out of our apartment kind of. we have to move in may because our landlord refuses to let us lease month by month. we have to sign for a full year or nothing. i don't know what i'm going to do. HOPEFULLY dave and his sister will buy a condo before may 1st that we can all move into. otherwise i might have to get a six month lease on a one bedroom or something. i don't know. it sucks.

that caleb person is having some art show at his house tonight. i don't think i'm going to go though....too many dates already.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINNY!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you are ready for a marathon day!
See you after work!

Monday, February 21, 2005

Hey, I totally remember those guys, I'm pretty sure- but what's caleb's last name? I totally have lied about being from Rochester before, but when I do I say I'm from Madison so maybe that's not totally lying. It's just so much cooler to say your from Madison, WI than from Rochester, MN.

I guess since I've moved here I have also pretended to be from french-speaking Canada, Spain and Italy (those last two only in China to people whose don't speak a lot of English and were trying to sell us stuff- we'd say something loud in another language and they would walk away very confused trying to repeate the word)

I heard that a bunch of people's power went out in madison after some underground fire on Johnson and State- Mara if your power went out I trust you know what to do... Do you still have a credit card your parents pay, cause that would be key!

Hey guys!
Glad to know that if I ever get kidnapped that life will carry on as normal. I moved, so that's why I haven't been around. Ginny don't know why you got that christmas card sent back to you because I didn't move until Jan. 28-ish. Are you sure you had the right postal code? Did you get my new address? It's 1156 W. 12th Ave. #101, Vancouver, BC V6H 1L6. It has been crazy warm here and there's hardly any snow on the mountains anymore, which isn't really a good thing considering how much money those ski resorts are losing. My mom is coming here in March and we were going to go skiing in Whistler, but I don't know if it will be possible. Snow machines can't really make an 18 ft base. My new apartment is up on the Granville rise, and I have a great view of downtown with the mountains behind it. Plus we have a roof deck! It's pretty sweet. I have a little vacation time this week, although I still have tons of homework to do...Virg I want to see a catalogue of your paper stuff too. And also I feel like I should get a cat do brag about like the rest of you! :) I do have a very beautiful new bromeliad, she's got a very dramatic red flower in the middle. Well guys, Ghostbusters II is on, so I am so out of here. Talk to you soon!
Love,
Meghan

Intertown is for luvvrrss....

Way to go V!!!
Was he the one in the red vest?
I went home, passed out, and NEARLY slept through work.
I hope you have fun with your parents, I hope that they like Chicago and tofu. I can't wait to meet them tomorrow.

DANCE PARTY TONIGHT, i'll call ya l8r

attention mara:

(or anyone else from rochester, mara usually has the best memory for people though)

i was out in wicker park last night doing my usual drinking thing, when i ran into a guy that i had met a few weeks ago named mike. i asked mike where he was from because he looked strangely familiar to me, and he said minneapolis.

i said, are you sure? are you sure you're not from rochester? he said, shit, yeah i actually am.

he turned out to be michael thibo who i vaguely remember as being a skateboard punk at kellogg, and he was with kyle ingalls (?) and a guy named caleb (??). also from rochester, though they don't really look familiar to me at all. we all drank until 4 am and i loosely have a date with caleb next week.

wha???? do any of you remember these guys?

ugh, i got back from atlanta yesterday afternoon after being gone for a full week. thats an awfully long time to be on VACATION let alone a WORK TRIP. it was pretty okay though, if you can handle boatloads of middle aged scrapbookers and dirty old men. the new york shows will be full of extremely high end boutique buyers for kate spade and prada, not this 'heavenly paths scrapbook supplies' and 'scissor sisters paper and accessories'.

i turned into such a snob while there. one night as we approached our hotel after having the nicest dinner of my life the doorman was inside helping some other guest and i actually thought to myself "what kind of piece of shit hotel is this that i have to open the door for MYSELF?"

but i'm over it. back to public transport and peanut butter sandwiches!

i bought ice cream last night and its already got freezer burn. boo hoo.

my parents are coming to visit this weekend, wish me luck. if they aren't nice to me this time i'm making them get a hotel. i'm excited to show them around the city though, provided they have decent attitudes.

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm very excited that week number one of nothingness is about 7.5 hours away from completion.

Marie, I'm really jealous of you seeing all these famous people! You and Ginny are so dang cool. I've seen some famous Koreans around, but to honest it hasn't been that exciting. Some random Korean pro-baseball player is not as cool as it sounds.

If you happen to see Jon Stewart around will you mention to him that he needs to do a special korean version of his show that can play on Korean basic cable. Thanks!

As long as we are arguing about cats I have to insert this:

MY cat is the cutest ever!

That's right, I got a cat! Well, sort of. I'm cat sitting for ten days while one of the peeps here goes to thailand. This morning I woke up to a cat chewing my hair, it was great! It's nice not to come home to an empty place all the time.

There's the link to some pictures!

I'm totally not giving it back in ten days...

mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all

Check this out.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/4229995.stm

I wish I could say it was all crap, but in fact it's extremely accurate. The women here are obsessed about looks, about clothes and about weight. They also think if they aren't married by 30 they are failures.

Anyway, it's some good insight into my life for the momment.

For the record, I will not be having a nose, boob, chin, etc, job while I'm here. Although, the eyelid thing sounds cool.

oh the wells fargo wagon is a coming down the street

hey what's up everyone!

I'm still alive, only unfortunately still without a working computer.

I just finished my first day of work back and taught all of ZERO classes. Basically I took up space at my desk for 8 hours. God help me, it's going to be like this for a while too. Tomorrow is graduation, so only a half day of sitting, but the next two weeks is the semester break (if all this sounds a bit like dumbass scheduling, it is) so I'll be sitting at school doing nothing everywork day until march 1. Joy, joy.

I took another smaller trip down to Busan in Southern Korea. It was awesome, except for the last night when for some reason my ultra-tolerance failed and I did some things not fit to mention here and woke up the next morning hating myself. Luckily my ego is strong enough to bounce back fairly fast.

Virginia, you shoudl NOT have leftover antibiotics. It's not good for you to not finish your prescription, nor is it good to finish it months later on your own.

Kristin, I think you should name the cat Catmeotes.

Mara, how the hell can you say my WARDROBE is bad? And besides that, like YOU would have a good wardrobe if all the clothes you had could fit into less than 2 suitcases and that's all you had to wear for 6 months. In my defense, I was voted best dressed last friday, and saturday morning made to help others dress themselves. You know I learned it all from you. (was that comment about my wardrobe in an email? I can't remember anymore)

er... I know there was more, I'll probably think of it later when I'm in my house doing nothing.

I think you should all start working on company paid trips to south Korea. There is a very big export/import market here, as well as me!

okay, I think that this is plenty long now, I think I'm rambling due to my brain become mush over the last 8 hours of extreme bordem.

Cheers everyone! Miss you!

oh yeah, PS. Happy B-day Mol!

kristin - OMG i am in love with your cat already! name it beverly meowstakis. call it bobo for short.

yesterday i came down with some awful sore-throat causing bug, but after sleeping straight through from 5:30 pm until 7 am, i feel better. my immune system is truly amazing. i also had some spare antibiotics from an old prescription that probably helped the process along.

so i am leaving tomorrow at 5 am on my first ever expense-accounted for business trip! they gave me a huge wad of 'petty cash.' if this is considered 'petty', the amount that i regularly spend on food, lodging, and taxis in a week must be 'paltry' or 'inconsequential'.

marie do you know what this means? if they decide to send me to the gift show in NY in March i will have a company credit card! and we can hit the town!

and dude, i get to take a car service to the airport tomorrow. i tried to talk vanessa, the other girl going to atlanta, to get us a limo. she said no.

mara- i will send you some stationery when i get back next week, or the week after that. kristin, yours should be arriving shortly.

VA- You are not answering your phone, and you sound very sick. I am worried. I am at work, but if you need anything let me know, well like lights or ceiling fans or gay men.

Friday, February 04, 2005

nej? is that jen spelled backwards? i love that girl.
OMG marie i think i'll be in new york next month, can we totally hang out?

i officially claim rockstar of the week prize for going dancing at neo last night until 3 am, and still making it to work by 8:30. i feel great!

thanks for the ex-boyfriend advice, i think you guys are probably right. i'm feeling much less caught up in the situation after thinking about it for a day or two.

BLIND YOUR EYES WITH DOUBLE VISION...

V- like I said, I think that you should give him a short responce if for no other reason than that it may give you closure and make you feel better about the whole thing. BUT, don't let the romantic nature of a much overdue love letter blind you. Maybe you will at least find and old new friend... I think I have found a new career as advice columnist for 17 Magazine.
(keep in mind that my people kinda nailed crist to a cross, so it may be my conscience talking)

Wednesday, February 02, 2005

well, i don't know about that. you guys didn't know crist at all, and i ultimately broke up with him because he was so painfully shy around you and my family that we could never really hang out with anyone but each other or his friends comfortably. but he was super awesome to me. and we had a blast together when we were alone. so i definatley owe him a response of some sort. what sort though? man this has put me through the wringer today.

dude....

so my ex-boyfriend crist (that i broke up with FOUR years ago) just emailed me a little note saying he's more or less still in love with me.

Acheemm....

Hello dudes, I am Jenny, friend of VA and the future Mrs. Adrien Brody.
I live in Chicago with Ginny and I got to meet the infamous Kristin this weekend.

As VA described it last night, the 2 of us could go shopping seperatly come home with exactly the same clothes (which has happened on several accounts) but we would never have a crush on the same boy.
